ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS TRAINING

The "Changing Awareness Through Environmental Perception" course is offered by CS Environmental Consulting. This course is designed for the everyday person especially those working in industry and mines, and focuses on chanring environmental perceptions one person at a time. Once an employee has completed this course they should have a clearer understanding of current environmental issues and how they, as part of your organisation, can contribute and aid to environmental management. The course is presented in a colourful and descriptive power point format with exercises after each module. It is a 6 - 8 hour course and contains 8 modules. You may also claim back from your skills levy. The trainer is very passionate in educating the country about global, national and local issues and well as relating it back to real life.

GENIUS LAB

Genius Lab specialises in environmental education & training - with a focus on eco-innovation and whole-systems solutions to current environmental problems. They run a series of experiential learning workshops that focus on exploring the genius around us and inspiring the genius within us. Genius Lab is motivated by the need to focus on solutions rather than problems - particularly environmental solutions.

The most popular workshop is the Genius of Nature workshop: Meetings with Remarkable Nature  which covers a wide range of subjects including Biomimicry, Living water, Living soil, Zero waste, Biodynamics, Permaculture, Cradle-to-Cradle design, Intelligent design in nature, and much more.

They offer monthly workshops that are open to the public (adults and kids), but also offer workshops on demand to businesses, schools, organisations, etc. Kids love them, teachers, designers and engineers are inspired by them. The workshops are facilitated by Claire Janisch, an environmental engineer, and Amanda Gifford, an experiential learning specialist.

“Learn how to make money with energy” - Solar Con CC the company supplying Equipment for Sun and Wind energy has formed a training institute called Solar Tech, offering training courses for Solar Electric Systems, Marketing, Design and Installation.

Global Carbon Exchange offers courses in "Carbon Footprint Analysis"; "Carbon Literacy" and "Energy Efficiency". The courses are around 1-3 days long and are held in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban, as well as abroad.
