SCARAB PAPER 
Scarab Paper combines recycled paper, natural dyes and santised elephant and rhino dung to produce unique hand-made writing paper, cards and envelopes. The paper is made by a team of ten local women who have been trained in the same method of paper-making used by the ancient Chinese 1800 years ago. The making of each sheet requires over twelve hands-on processes. The products are available in a variety of earth colours and natural shades. Each sheet of paper is unique.

USB MEMORY STICKS 
Kharkams Technology Crafters make fully functional, individually crafted USB memory sticks from alien vegetation. The USB component is made in Asia, while the "stick" is made from the branches of alien vegetation sourced from the area. Each memory stick has a unique appearance due to the naturally orcurring texture of the wood.  The project provides income generation opportunities for five previously unemployed men living in the Northern Cape village of Kharkams.

RIVER REED ECO-FRIENDLY HAND MADE PAPER
River Reed paper is made from invasive reeds, water hyacinth and other waste products to provide an alternative to paper from trees. Their paper comes in A4, A3, A2, 600 by 700 - as well as any custom orders - and envelopes. The paper can be printed on and screen printed and litho. They are based on a farm in the Western Cape and their products are available in the Deckle and Edge, Paper Paradise stores, and most retail paper and craft stores.
